Modern Slavery Statement

ORGANISATION

This statement applies to all companies within and associated to FTS Group London Ltd (referred to in this statement as 'The Group'). The FTS Group operates across the United Kingdom supplying temporary labour and  logistics services which include haulage and warehouse services to business of all sizes. 

DEFINITIONS

The FTS Group considers that modern slavery encompasses:

  • Human trafficking,

  • Forced work, through mental or physical threat,

  • Being owned or controlled by an employer through mental or physical abuse of the threat of abuse,

  • Being dehumanised, treated as a commodity or being bought or sold as property,

  • Being physically constrained or to have restriction placed on freedom of movement.

COMMITMENT

The FTS Group acknowledges its responsibilities in relation to tackling modern slavery and commits to complying with the provisions in the Modern Slavery Act 2015. The FTS Group understands that this requires an ongoing review of both its internal practices in relation to its labour force and, additionally, its supply chains.

The FTS Group does not enter into business with any other organisation, in the United Kingdom or abroad, which knowingly supports or is found to involve itself in slavery, servitude and forced or compulsory labour.

No labour provided to the FTS Group in the pursuance of the provision of its own services is obtained by means of slavery or human trafficking. The FTS Group strictly adheres to the standards required in relation to its responsibilities under relevant employment legislation in the United Kingdom, and in many cases exceeds those minimums in relation to its employees through it’s use of recognised external accreditation bodies that audit The Group’s internal practices.

SUPPLY CHAINS AND POTENTIAL EXPOSURE

In order to fulfil its activities, the FTS Group's main supply chains include those related to the resourcing of labour from a wide range of recruitment tools as well as the engagement of second tier recruitment agencies. The FTS Group considers its main exposure to the risk of slavery and human trafficking to exist from the use of outside agencies as second tier suppliers. In general, the FTS Group considers its exposure to slavery/human trafficking to be limited, nonetheless it has taken steps to ensure that such practices do not take place in its business nor the business of any organisation that supplies goods and/or services to it.

DUE DILIGENCE

The FTS Group carries out due diligence processes in relation to ensuring slavery and/or human trafficking does not take place in its organisation or supply chains, including conducting a review of the controls of its suppliers. The FTS Group has not, to its knowledge, conducted any business with another organisation which has been found to have involved itself with modern slavery. In accordance with section 54(4) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, the FTS Group has taken the following steps to ensure that modern slavery is not taking place:

  • Reviewing supplier contracts to include termination powers in the event that the supplier is, or is suspected, to be involved in modern slavery;

  • Providing training to staff to ensure measures are in place during recruitment phases to identify potential risks, for example conducting 1-2-1 interviews with candidates, and escalating instances if payment is asked to be made into an alternate bank account other than that of the individual conducting the work to-Senior management;

  • Continually review suppliers to identify and assess the potential risks in its supply chains;

  • Engaging recognised external auditing and accreditation bodies to review our internal practices and remain up to date with best practice.

  • Operate a zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery.

POLICIES, TRAINING, AND COMPLIANCE MANAGEMENT

The FTS Group has policies which seek to safeguard our business activity and stakeholders against modern day slavery which are included our corporate social responsibility policy, recruitment code of conduct, and supplier vetting documents.

The FTS Group delivers training to staff to enable effective implement of its stance on modern slavery, including in the training of our recruitment consultants, and the business induction training for all colleagues.

The FTS Group has a Compliance Officer, to whom all concerns regarding modern slavery should be addressed, and who will then undertake relevant action with regard to the FTS Group obligations in this regard.
